Should LSU make the switch to an odd front defensively?

This obviously would mean hiring a coach with a preference for the 34 front.
It's what many great NFL defenses are imploring at this stage, and it would be a great selling tool to kids.
Two defensive lineman from North Louisiana have chosen Alabama and Nick Saban the past two recruiting cycles because of their fit in the odd front -- they didn't fit what LSU was trying to do so it wasn't that big of a loss for you non-recruiting guys.
Of course, like Saban and 'Bama, LSU strictly wouldn't be a 3-4 defense, they'd use even fronts and be versatile in their looks.
Is the current personnel there to run it? I believe so.
NG: Trey Leal., Valentine, LaCoutre and Q Thomas.
5-technique DEs: Godchaux, Herron, Gilmore, Bain
OLB: M.J. Patterson, Deondre Clark, Sione Teuhema, Tashawn Bower and Lewis Neal. Possibly Danielle Hunter

I'd say yes to the personnel and Pendergast's 5-2 is actually much closer to a 3-4 style defense.

I would go with 3-3-5 defense. Or a 4-2-5

There is no reason for us to do this. We run enough nickel as it is.

I was thinking about this early this morning. A guy like Mingo playing OLB in this system would have been way more effective than he was in 2011. Teuhema, Hunter, Neil, Bower, should thrive in this.
Valentine is the perfect NT (at least based on high school status).

Jesus, why don't you all just apply for the coaching job!
