Good luck running a shotgun offense with a O line men calling the plays.

Mettenberger said taking the snap under center with a five-step drop allows him to read the defense better than if he has to take his eyes off the opponent momentarily to catch a shotgun snap."

Considering that he misses a backside blitz in almost every game from under center, I find this reasoning dubious.

Ok I've read this 4 times, and it still sounds stupid

Man, I did the same thing. But, it's Mett saying the drop is what he's more comfortable with. Doesn't sound like it's Krag's idea.

Dude will get about 2.5 steps into that drop before clowey is knocking his dick in the dirt

Probably be about as bad as Lemonier (sp) was

Seems obvious to me our best bet to neutralize this pass rush to some degree would be quick routes out of the shotgun. But I'm sure they'll stick with the double tights under center.

Its not just the pass rush. Mett isn't mobile at all. So yeah, quick routes out of the guy is the answer and yeah they ain't trying that shite. Sucks because Mett has a Big time arm and actually can get the ball into windows that Lee and JJ simply could not. Guess we aren't going to try and take advantage of that at all though....
