This is from today's Courier-Journal. There are similar entries for each team.

________________

No. 4 LSU (48-17)

Notes: The Southeastern Conference Tournament champions are riding a 16-game win streak into the program's 18th CWS appearance. LSU is also the team in this year's CWS field with the most national titles, having clinched victory in Omaha six times.

Strength: LSU has outscored opponents 456-248 this season behind shortstop Kramer Robertson's nation-leading 83 runs. Outfielder Greg Deichmann's team-best 72 RBIs is also good for top 10 in the country.

Weakness: Bullpen depth. The Tigers have three great starters, but only two go-to closers in Zack Hess and Caleb Gilbert. Hess and Gilbert were both instrumental in helping the Tigers close out Mississippi State in the super regional, but can LSU continue to rely on them?

He'll get it done, but you'll be clenching your butt muscles the entire time too.

While I don't think our bullpen depth is a strength, it's adequate.

That said, we certainly need our starters going 7 innings

Remember when Gilbert gave up a 9th inning HR to a PH'er sub .200?

It happens.

Hess, Gilbert, Newman can handle the pressure and get it done.

Butt pucker factor is massive. Seems like it's always bases juiced no outs and the game on the line.

And then a strikeout and a double play, after a mound visit.

Too much fuggin stress.

Courier journal has a great sports section.
Covers b1g, sec, and acc.

Yep...there aren't many cities that can claim local teams from three major conferences (UL, UK, IU).

for an out of state paper that's a damn good synopsis. I think the Courier is an A one paper.
