Brennan's going to improve the offense with that quick release, not as confident in the defense improving as quickly, it is sort of shocking. Defense being a liability

I'd like to see our D do what the Cowboys did Monday night. 3 man front with 3 linebackers and 6 DBs. Man to man with 2 deep safeties. Linebackers gotta protect the gaps but it'll get our speed out there......Then gang tackle the frick out of em.

Lawrence and Alexander getting healthy will help the defense. I am hoping they are both back by Florida. Maybe Herron even gets back idk.

So there is that.

Defense being more of a liability than the offense!

fixing to start a thread but tagging on to yours.

a great dline can make a secondary look great. vice-versa a great secondary can help a weaker dline look better. too many youngsters in the secondary and too many injuries on the dline. with any luck at all we'll have a better than average defense the second half of the season.

also, an offense that can make first downs can help the defense. if they are scoring and holding the ball helps even more.

Right running the same 4 DLinemen the entire game is a great way of gassing them out fast.

This Defense would be instantly better with lawrence Alexander. And herron in the rotation.

Iran not really possible when you only have 4 of them.

There is a reason every team rotates DLinement at pretty much every level.

The problem we're having on defense...well, one of the problems, is a lack of physical play in the front seven. Is turning it into a front six and putting smaller, faster players on the field a solution?

Absolutely true.

Not so much.

True.

"Any luck at all"? I'd say we need a hell of a lot of luck.

Yes, but asking an offense whose line can't block any team, not even a FCS team, to do that is pretty unrealistic.

I agree we have serious problems on defense, but I think the offense is worse. Special teams, as bad as they have been, may actually be the strength of this team.

Damn, one year at LSU and Aranda forgot how to coach.

It might help if the offense could have some long drives and dominate time of possession. That is about the only relief for a defence that is short on quality depth.

RL & Herron will help a ton when we get em both back on the field together. We just gotta get by Troy and the Tators first I hope Logan steps up. This is his shot to prove he can get it done

Not pressing or blitzing Aranda coaches like he's afraid.
