I wondered for some time how closely the NCAA tests for steriods. Does it match up with how the NFL tests? Does the NCAA use an older, less sensitive test?

You rarely hear anything about PED postives in college football, yet some teams in recently memory have gotten really big, reall quick. For reference on this, look at Bama's OL/DL before Saban got there and then after he was there for 2 years Its a noticeable difference. Kinda explains how he always ends up with these 260 lb LBs who can run, but then melt down when they get to the NFL.

Re the comment about the NCAA's testing for PED's, I was football tailgating with a baseball player's family back when both were in school & I asked the baseball player if he knew of any "stars" who were juicing. He said that for most, it's too expensive, but then laughed and said he had been in LaRon's apt once for a party. When he went to the bathroom, he said he opened a closet & found, literally, shelves of PED's. Said that when he talked to LaRon about it later, LaRon told him that his brother, playing in the NFL, kept him supplied. So, I presume the NCAA's, at least back then, did not test much if at all. This was in LaRon's soph yr.
