Yes, all the more reason for the SEC to go to a 9 game schedule AND have LSU play at minimum, one decent OOC game per year and/or a great home/home EVERY year !
The OOC money grabs, should be limited to no more than once every 3-4 years......either that or go all in with a neutral site EVERY year plus sell an additional SEC home game EVERY year !
Think of all that $, all the recruits that will sign with us from the neutral site recruiting areas, all the great TV exposure....that's all the admins. ever talk about !

There's a good chance that will improve shortly, but for an unfortunate reason. Our current formula is to schedule a high profile neutral site game against a good team OOC and then play the less attractive OOC games at home. But, those neutral site games are not going to be as easy to schedule as our program declines. Those early-season neutral site games want good teams. They don't want the bottom teams in a conference. Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Kentucky don't have the chance to schedule games like that very often. LSU is soon to be the same. The days of our lofty preseason rankings are over. I'd give even money right now that we will not be in the preseason top 25 in 2018 or 2019. What organization that puts on one of these games is going to want a lower-tier SEC team for its game? Why would ESPN try to set one up with us involved? They're going to want teams that are ranked or expected to be good.

When we can't get those games any more (which will start happening next year and take effect whenever the already-scheduled ones run out), we won't have a choice but to schedule home and home with P5 opponents.

Those games get a lot of attention, so it's not a good thing that we won't be worthy of them, but in our case, a lower profile for the next few years might not be a bad thing. As long as we've decided figuratively to pick our nose and scratch our arse, it's not a bad idea to stand in a quiet corner while we do it.

Tv has done this. Games are too long and it's really nice to watch from couch.
Problem is alleva/admin doesn't care as long as the season tickets sell. The actual gameday/concession income is negligible because it's guaranteed by contract with Aramark.

The solution is creative scheduling and the sec putting pressure on networks to reduce length of games.

Lsu should only play 1 home game in September in TS. It's too hot/hurricanes

They should play a sept Home game in super dome every year vs power 5 school. It will help with recruiting in that area and help grow fan base in that area.

They need to serve beer and wine and incentivize season ticket holders with a post season priority point system based upon attendance/use of seats. This will put the common man back in the stadium since more tickets will be used at little to no cost to third party users. Once again growing fan base and potential revenue. Stadium is not what it once was because the blue collar workers can only afford shitty seats which don't compare to home experience.

Most of our Fan Base is already in the NOLA area.

How about a Power 5 school in freaking CocaCola Tiger Tacky PIM Stadium?
