As what? There's numerous guys in the draft who can do what Shep does except they can catch and run routes.
No, No there isnt. His elusiveness and acceleration is pretty damn impressive. Not many have that. How many of those guys averaged 7.9 ypt

Look, Shep will not be a return man. There are people way faster and more elusive than him that have a hard time catching on as return people.
Trindon got cut by Houston and the only reason Denver even risks his fumble problems is because he has world class speed.

actually LSU caught A&M at the right time because had they played them towards the end of the season they may have gotten blowed out the way A&M closed out the year. But, yeah go head and dump on Shep for sayin fast, skilled type players comin out of HS,(like Percy Harvin and him) that can run and catch shouldn't go to LSU where they employ a 3 yard and cloud of dust offense that uses big backs and hardly throws the ball because they're liable to rot on the bench for 4 years!
THAT IS A CROCK OF ABSOLUTE bullshite.
A&m was every bit as good offensively at the time of that game. GTFO with that pussy shite. This is still LSU. A winning program. A&m finished 3rd in the SEC to the 2 traditional powerhouses.
Things can change of a dime. Don't get too caught up in the flash. There is no pride for LSU and that is beyond fricked up. He once had it, but he became bitter.

quote:and you are right because Tim Tebow and Florida's system used Harvin. A lot. They gave him the ball on spread out wild cat formations to let him do his thing. Miles may have found out that if he had done the same with Jefferson and Shepard, he may have had something going, but of course we never found out!
No way Shep should even be mentioned in the same breath as Percy Harvin.

You don't think for one second that if LSU and A&M are recruiting the same guy that there is a 0% chance this gets mentioned in the coming year or so?
The very first thing I thought of as well. You better believe A&M will be mentioning this with recruits. 100%

Quite frankly, he was probably used too often.
He matched the longest run against Bama last year, he had the longest reception that got us our first score against them at Bama in 2011 and had by far the longest run against Bama the year before that.
He wasn't Mr. Football, but he wasn't a total bum either.

i just think there is still a little lack of team unity or something with this squad. i am actually glad shep is leaving and i'm not being bitter about it. it's time for new leadership to take over.
I agree. Between RR, JJ, from last year and the few holdovers from this year it's time for them to move on but should do it with a little more tact.
Justin Vincent for example didn't exactly pan out but that guy was always a Tiger through and through. Too bad some of these guys aren't more like him.

The combine is where Shep has to make himself noticed.
I will be honest and I am a Shep fan, he has done zero on the field to warrant a draft slot.
It would have served him better to play in the PAC12 where they do not play defense and he is faster then most onb defense. The SEC has LBers as fast as Shep, so does the NFL.
It seemed every time he was wrapped up the defender would just body slam Shep.
No way Shep woud beat out Boone Landry and ODB3

Acceleration is good, elusiveness not so much.

I think it will have absolutely no affect on any kid deciding between LSu and A&M. It's nothing but message board fodder.
Kids are still fickle and could very well buy into the LSU sucks.. especially offensively.. look what this other highly recruited player our of texas has to say.
But whatever. It's whatever. It's still fricked up RS said that. Like I said.. give a&m the props, but on the other hand it's a great time to use that and say WE still beat them. GEAUX Tigers..
but no he couldn't do that. he's not a tiger forever. he's texas forever.

He was good running the ball out of the backfield, but was never going to get the touches here. He was never a WR.
Was never a fit here.

That's the middle ground, dumbass.
As it pertains to your perception of Shep and most everyone else's.
He is not and was not elite. He was ok. He didn't ride the bench.
That's the difference. He was ok. You clearly have a chubby for the guy who either underperformed or just wasn't very good. I, like many, feel he just asn't very good.
You have nothing to back up your argument and would like to continue to call me dumbass. I think you are a big pussy living in Alaska probably doing nothing with your life much like Shephard and feel a common ground with the loser. Have a great day!

Call it what you want! If you think LSU defense was playin good enough towards the end of the season to shut down a hot A&M, you are a dumb arse to believe ithat.

Glad I am not the only one to think this. He never really showed any elusive qualities. Hell, there were times he danced way too much with 0 results.

LSU d line gave Manziel absolute fits. It would be no different.
Posted on 1/6/13 at 7:53 pm to stout
Yeah the great majority of his runs were straightline, can't think of him making someone miss or breaking a tackle since his HS video.

Rueben Randle's tweets or Tollivers were probably more damaging. Hell, LSU's offense is probably more damaging than R.S. tweets.
He'll get over it.
