The rant said that Whitworth wouldn't make it in the NFL. The real answer is, however, it's too soon to tell. Turner will likely pass Whitworth up when it's all said and done.

Yes, who the hell is the other side of the debate even? I mean, Lael may get there one day, but that is a long time off.

Its really hard for guards to get touted over tackles but Turner has really played well for Carolina.

Mawae at one point was being pumped for league MVP by Madden. Dude was so dominant and easily the best lineman in the game at center.

Faneca - if you want to know how good he was go look at Faulks JR and SR stat lines. Faneca was a road grader like Collins.

God dammit people, Mawae and Faneca were both well before 2000. I mean, its right there in the title.

Sorry, its late.

Yes without a doubt. Ben Wilkerson would've been if not for injuries. Scouts said he was the best center prospect in 20 years and the most athletic center maybe ever.

Wow! What a debate -Whitworth, Mawae ,Andolsek ,Mc Clute ,Wilkerson. Man we've had some good ones.
#1 I'd say is between Whit & Mawae

Ben Wilkerson was the best center I've seen play at LSU. Sure wish his injuries wouldn't have kept him from the pros.

It was a joy to watch that guy play before he got hurt. Even after the round of knee injuries he was still easily the best center in the country.

The problem is, is that people do "time periods" to justify their favorite pick and make sure they "win" the thread. If he came out and said "Best LSU linemen of all time" his player wouldn't qualify.

Up against mawae and faneca, whitworth is just north of average.

It's sad. That's the state of our OLine quality since 2000. You can't even put another player in th discussion. It's sad.

I tried so hard to find that shirt they made. What was it? "IM WALKLING OFF THIS FIELD!"

Broke my heart seeing him get injured.

Tragedy what happened to Andolseck and who was the other guy from that line who passed away? He was a tackle. Packnett or Norwood?

bullshite. Mawae and Faneca are better but dont act like Whitworth hasnt been one of the best LT in football for a decade.

Also the discussion was the saban & miles era.
