I'm confused about your use of quotes around the word "fan". Are they scare quotes? Sarcasm quotes? Is a "fan" the same as a fan? Your question only poses more questions.

This is
quote:

Why are You a Tiger fan?

...because Daddy was. I bleed purple and gold. Named after Billy Cannon. Probably conceived the night BC ran the famous punt back for TD.
My allegiance is locked and will never change

My earliest childhood memories (1950's) are of my family huddled around a static filled radio on fall Saturday nights listening to John Fergenson & Walter Hill broadcasting LSU games. I had family who lived in Baton Rouge and when we visited them, sometimes we would go see Mike. I also remember driving over the Miss River bridge just to get a peak at Tiger Stadium. My first LSU game was the 1964 Sugar Bowl vs. Syracuse in the old Tulane stadium on a brisk bright sunny New Years Day. Those memories have stayed with me to this very day. My dream came true when I was accepted to LSU as a student in 1973, being assigned a room in the North End Zone dormitory.

TLDR: LSU is ingrained in my soul for better or worse.
