Seems like McNeese has been hit hard with injuries.

Several Cowboys will miss Saturday's game including
defensive end Brian Hine
offensive linemen Matt Wilson and Jalen Smith,
quarterback Joe Lissard,
linebacker Callen Smith.

Hine and maybe Wilson. I'm not sure about Wilson. Long was our 3rd and short, goal line, and our run out the clock back. He is out for the season with a knee injury.
Injuries and McNeese are nothing new the last few years. I wish we could have played the entire season in 2014 with the team that played Nebraska. We started losing players for the year in the next game and it progressively got worse as the season went on.
Ryan Ross was a freshman that was to be redshirted. He went from 4th or 5th on the depth chart to start the season to the starter at the end. Last game of the season, we were down to our 4th string QB. And that is not to mention all the other players at the other position we lost during the season.
The team that lost three games in a row at the end of the season was definitely not the same team that played Nebraska.

Anyone remember how we trounced UNC with all their starters missing? Yeah, I know it's McNeese but living in North Carolina that game nearly made me move.
