Only reason I don't see LSU winning the SEC title is that the road schedule is brutal, while the home stretch outside of Auburn is easy. With that said, I think LSU and Florida are a cut above the rest this season

I would be inclined to say it's LSU and Auburn this year. I've read that 19 of Auburn's wins have been run-rule. That's pretty damn impressive by any measure.

It's going to be a hell of a series when we meet them.

Auburn has horrible pitching though. I think LSU and Florida's pitching is good enough to keep Auburn under 6, which should be enough with both team's hitting.

auburn is still really good though. I can't believe they stole the Arizona State coach, even though he's pretty old

Auburn is paying Coach Myers a lot more than he made at Arizona State. Plus his sons get to coach with him as well.

SEC Softball is where it is at in the USA now. I see Oregon as the major threat out West, but after that, I don't know.

Very impressive league that has come a long way in a relatively short time. Why the hell doesn't Vandy field a team?

Vandy picked lacrosse when everyone else added softball. Probably cheaper since lacrosse can share a stadium with soccer or football. With them also having women's bowling I doubt they ever have a softball team.

Very good question....here are the schools from familiar conferences who don't play softball & baseball...

SOFTBALL
ACC – Clemson, Duke, Miami, Wake Forest
CUSA – Rice, Old Dominion,
SEC – Vanderbilt
Big 10 – everyone plays
Big 12 – TCU, West Virginia, Kansas State
Pac 12 – Colorado, USC, Washington State
Sun Belt – Arkansas-Little Rock, Arkansas State, Idaho
Southland -- UNO

BASEBALL
ACC – Syracuse
CUSA -- UTEP
SEC – everyone plays
Big 10 – Wisconsin
Big 12 – Iowa State
Pac 12 – Colorado
Sun Belt – Idaho
Southland – everyone plays

New Mexico State competes in football in Sun Belt, but baseball/softball in the Western Athletic Conference.

I read somewhere that Duke will be fielding a team starting with the 2016 season.
