Because the Conference RPI is higher of the Sun Belt is higher and the RPI of opponents are better. Here look for yourself and make your own conclusions.

The offense needs to be better too. Smith easily should have pitched longer but after not getting that out it all fell apart.

So that's the 4th mental/physical error on defense. Quinn's error. Smith failing to back up the throw from right field. The popup catch by Kloss where they let the girl tag from first. And then that bunt.
I get they're not hitting. And the baserunning goofs early don't help but this team lacks solid defensive play and those errors add up to runs against and put our pitchers in increased pressure situations.

Yes and if there was ever an injustice that is one. Reward a player for losing her position to a freshman, than make 18 errors at her new position. Makes a lot of sense.

We had a good run. Hopefully the hitting will pick up again. I don't see this team making it to the WCWS, but winning their regional is certainly doable.
