Anyone that was at the SEC picnic in Austin this afternoon I need your help. As many people witnessed my dog was attacked by another dog with around $1,000 in damages for this wounds suffered. After it happened I left quickly to get him to the after hours vet to be treated and I never got any info on the owner of the other dog that attacked my dog. If anyone on here was here was there and knows info on the owner please post or email me at dcjaeger80@yahoo.com. Thank you.

To be honest I didn't see that fan, but it was right outside the LSU area... It was a very large pit bull that attacked my dog and caused significant harm to him

Hope someone knows who this guy was. He should be held fully responsible for all of the medical costs. Also something needs to be done about that dog before any other animals, or people get hurt.

Yeesh, what exactly happened? That really sucks. As dog-friendly as austin is, I'm surprised someone had such an aggressive dog not on a leash. We live in the hill country and take our dogs everywhere, but were in san antonio today

Not to defend a bad dog or anything, but the pit bull was on a leash when this happened.

Still, I'm surprised. The OP, and the pit owner, are probably like me. You know most dog owners that take their dogs out in public around here do so on a regular basis. The dogs are usually very socialized and friendly as a result.
How is the dog that was attacked doing?

I left before that happened. do you know if the other dog owner was a part of the tailgate or just someone in the park? if they were a part of the tailgate, i can get you in touch with the organizer of the event who has the names of everyone that signed-in.

I had a 2 1/2 yr old daughter at the tailgate...what would have happened if she would have tried to pet the fricking dog and it ripped her face off. That owner was saying shite like "I kept telling that dude to keep his dog away from mine..." and "That dog invaded my dog's space...blah blah blah"

Newsflash: don't bring your god damn dog around other dogs / little kids if that is going to happen. I 100% blame the owner of that pit bull for that. Luckily, my wife got his plate numbers and called Animal Control.

It probably could just as easily have been a child. Anyway...dcj185, check your email. I sent you some more info that should get you in contact with that guy. Good luck!

I agree with you Tiger n Austin. Some dog owners don't understand that everyone does not love their dog as much as the owners do. The last thing you should have do is to tell people that they shouldn't bring their dog. It's best to leave your pet home. I have 2 pets but I don't bring them all over for people to play with. I don't like stepping in dog poop when going to events either. I just think it's people not realizing what they are doing when the bring their dog to an event.

Hey everyone sorry for the late reply its been a hectic couple of days. Thanks for the replies and help, especially from Kelle and Tiger N Austin for the info. Our dog is doing better, had surgery Saturday night and should be back to a normal happy dog life in the near future. I'll keep everyone updated on what comes out from this.

You need to kill that other dude's pit bull. Retribution.
