If Florida and Alabama both win their next two games, they’d be 8-1 and 9-0 respectively and division winners. Florida is currently scheduled to play LSU the weekend before the SEC championship game so if Alabama has a bye week Florida will likely lobby for one.

I've been screaming this for weeks now.

This issue along with the scheduling and LSU being their common (unplayed) opponent makes it all work out.

Imagine the SEC fiending for the money so bad that they make us play BOTH Alabama and Florida AFTER the SEC championship game.

Good find.

Brandon Marcello knows what is up.

Let's be honest here, Florida and Alabama are not going to lose BOTH of their next two games. Auburn always gives Alabama a fight, but they don't have the players this year to pull it off.

The SEC will do everything they can to get these games in. It doesn't matter how meaningful these games are in crowning an SEC East/West Champion. Television revenue is the most important contribution here, with ticket sales coming in second. Remember, one fourth of what you'd normally get out of ticket sales is still a very large number.

How much does the SEC make televising each game? This will determine how many games are played

The SEC will equalize things by making Alabama play on Dec. 12 also. They will play Arkansas as part of the flip flop that will result in LSU and Bama playing next week and LSU- Ole Miss on Dec. 19. Watch.

I can't see the SEC nixing anything because it makes football sense. Everyone needs money too badly.

From a fairness perspective, this makes sense.

From a SEC and university revenue perspective, they are both going to push for this game. In such a screwy season the conferences and universities are trying to grab as much cash as possible.

Alabama won't have a bye week. Likely lSU Bama will be moved to next week. Bama army will move to Dec 12.

LSU Ole Miss will happen Dec 19

I assume they need to make that decision by the weekend so all programs involved can game plan accordingly?
