Old news. Ross Dellenger reported this back in May.

Who says single division? Less than 2 is no division.

If it's single, how could it be divided? Sankey is a dumbass

So, the 2 "best" play for the SEC Championship?

With a 16-team conference, any system will be unwieldy. Will permanent opponents be a thing of the past? Just a pure rotation?

Interesting times.

Give it time, we will eventually break off from the NCAA and do our own thing.

Yes. If in place this year that would be a TN/GA rematch. This is a cream rises to the top model. No more Cinderella's like 2001 LSU.

Probably 9 game schedule with 3 permanents. Each team could have their own custom setup

So, Alabama gets Vandy, Mizzou, and UK as permanent opponents and LSU gets UGA, UF, and Auburn?

I think with a 12 team playoff you are going to eventually see conference championship games go by the wayside

With the expanded playoffs maybe a sec championship isn’t necessary? The scheduling will be the problem. I could see lots of frickery incoming without a pod system or divisions.

Ping pong balls to set the schedule each year.

Bama will get lucky and always get Auburn, Tennessee, and the 7 worst teams from the previous year.

I just don't see how this is going to work with 16 teams. I understand this is how Greg Sankey wants to move the conference. But I just do not see how this is going to work with still only a 12 game regular season.

It’s a flawed approach. What if we had not played Tennessee and 2nd place tied records at 7-1 SEC? How do you settle, common opponents, schedule strength, rankings? No answer will be as good as head to head or division record.

2 highest ranked teams play for championship. Makes sense

Big Ten will probably do the same bc their divisions have been lopsided for years.

That doesn't seem exactly workable when every team's "setup" is interdependent on every other team's setup.
