First of all, the two second team All SEC pitchers haven't lost a game. How awesome is that? Secondly, LSU got more respect than Vandy on this voting. Sure, Cotton got hosed, but we really can't argue considering we got 5 of the first team spots.

Is Renfroe really that good of a defensive outfielder? He didn't stick out to me when we played MSate.

He's better than Yaz, who looked like second grader in the outfield against LSU.

Cotton is the only other person you could make an argument for. With all things considered, this is the best we could get which is wayyyyy more respect than usual.

I agree. Cotton is the only one that could have made a case. There's other people that could have made a case over some of our guys. Nola winning pitcher of the year is great but it was a very close race. Numerous studs in the SEC this year.

I thought Katz on the all defensive team was interesting being that he isn't a true first baseman. Maybe they saw him diving all over the field while playing second in the tourney

For Katz to be able to play OF last year, 1b this year and 2b in a bind this year that is pretty good for defense

Going in another direction, I guess Raph is still riding that 2012 wave.

He batted .335 for the season with an on base % of .405 and he didn't make an error all season.

A lot of times, a Player's reputation can get them on this list, but it's not like Raph had a bad year. He just wasn't unconscious like last year. I'd be interested to see the 2nd team outfielders numbers. .340 ain't a bad year.

I'm not saying he had a bad year by any stretch. Just surprised he's 1st team and not 2nd team. I wish Foster had more playing time this year. 1.000 fielding avg and batting .389.

Who would you have put on the 1st team ahead of Raph?

Look, I've been on the Foster bandwagon long before this past weekend, but you just can't compare the 60 or so at bats by Foster, batting in the lineup where he does, with the 200 or so at bats by Raph, who is a key player in the LSU lineup that pitcher's focus on making tough pitches too.
