Loved watching him play when I was in college. Such a sweet smooth swing. I’ll never forget that time he and Blake dean went back to back hr twice in the small inning.

One of my favorite swings ever at LSU. Sat next to Blake Dean's dad at the Super in 2009. Blake's dad said Blake called him when he first got to LSU and said there was this kind of small guy in his freshman class with some serious pop coming off the bat. He was talking about Schimpf. I still think back to when he went yard against Texas in the final game. Everyone knew that ball was headed straight to the bleachers in right center the second it came off that bat.

I know you're getting rained with downvotes, but Schimpf was 0/16 with 11 strikeouts in spring training this year and was 0/9 with 5 strikeouts in AAA before being called up. And he had 2 strikeouts in this game to go along with the homerun he hit. Love the guy, but his K rate has gotten out of control since early last year. He hit .158 last year with 14 HRs in 165 ABs and struck out 70 times. For his MLB career, he's struck out 177 times in 444 ABs.

I’d love to see the Yankees sign him so he could play with that short porch in left. And be surrounded by those other big bats.

he's struck out a lot, but to the dude's credit he's got 444 more at bats in major league baseball than i have and he continues to get more so cheers to him; hope he continues to succeed

I was at Dodger Stadium last year for Opening Day when he blasted a homer off Kershaw. Dodgers were up big at the time, so I didn't mind
