San Diego QB Depth Chart Update

QB -- In: (2) Philip Rivers and Charlie Whitehurst (free agent, Seahawks). Out: Jarrett Lee (undrafted, LSU) and Kevin O'Connell (free agent, Jets). Analysis: Lee is starting to show he could develop into a quality NFL QB, but the Chargers will likely try to sneak him on to the practice squad to free up the roster spot. O'Connell didn;t play in the preseason opener against the Packers and is expected to be off the roster when Whitehurst (sore, MCL) returns.
So at the very worst, he is shaping up to at the very least, make the practice squad. Not many here or anywhere had that as even a possibility for an undrafted QB from LSU.

Absolutely. Why not? He will get most of the snaps in their next game as well, since Whitehurst will still be out. I would not be surprised if Lee is on the active roster week 1 while Whitehurst is still recovering.

Who can tell - hard to downplay 235 and a TD even if it's just a preseason game. He handled the pressure pretty damn well, and given the way he was treated by Miles at the end of the season, it's hard not to pull for him. I sure hope he makes it - a redemption for a young man who went through a hell of a lot in his college football career.
I think the big thing here is that the Chargers like him and like his attitude. On a side note, maybe Jacob has some pull with the staff????

Les Miles created it, could have stopped it, and decided not to.
It. Will. Never. Stop.
