I feel like when I watch Sage, it’s like he has no feel for the game at all. He doesn’t anticipate receivers movements at all and can’t mirror them in man defense. He almost always watches them make the first couple moves and then ends up chasing them. It’s a big part of the reason he gets burned… that and he can’t ever find the ball. I’m not sure it can be corrected.

He does the same in run defense. He was responsible for the outside pitch on a lot of those plays and just watched the play happen, and then chased the RB from behind after it’s too late to set the edge.

I wonder if we’ll see Yaites or Toviano get any more PT. I even wonder if Chestnut could play Nickel better.

Sage actually had a pretty good game on Saturday. Wasn’t perfect and I’m sure got beat on a play or two (maybe that’s what you’re referring to?) but overall was a good day.

Would like to see his consistency improve though….

Sage uses the Ole' strategy. It's not good for defense.

That may be the silver lining (if there is any). The coaches have been playing many of our Freshman. I think it will continue. Maybe its the "it can't get any worse" concept.

See Welch, weeks, stamps etc...

I don't know if I can stand any more Major Burn's flex fest when the D has given up 40-50 points.

He's smart, well-spoken, and looks good in pads.

I actually thought Ryan was one of the bright spots.
Welch looks disinterested, Harris looks lost. Alexander looks soft, but is still probably the best CB we have right now.
Sams tries hard, but seems out of position alot. Burns just doesn't look to be very good.
Losing Brooks was a huge blow to this team. He played with attitude and energy.

I imagine some of the lack of attitude is the players just totally unsure of what they are doing.

Not surprised. Isn’t he from Lafayette? The majority of people from the Lafayette area are soft AF.

He was! I totally agree, and the stats back it up.

I get that he's not the superstar we wanted him to be but he's not the liability people suggest that he is.

If you ever watched him play in high school, you would know why.

This is the thing with high school athletes, you really never know what you will get at the next level.

And he isn't actually atrocious but tRant doesn't know how to grade anyone other than superstar or bust so you guys just keep repeating yourselves over and over again.

He’s really more suited to be a FS than a corner.
