I personally think he is better than Curtis Taylor. I also think his best football is ahead of him which is why I feel he is a 1st rounder. Reid is much smarter than Peterson, Claiborne, and almost any defensive player LSU has had in a very long time. He won't score a 7 on the Wonderlic. Reid played hurt and IMO he was trying to do too hard (over compensating) sometimes this year.

As someone mentioned, Reid's struggles against Clemson were a result of Morris' scheming that matched himm up on Nuk. There's not a CB in the nation who can cover Nuk let alone a S.

Having said that, Reid has been underwhelming the entire season, especially in the tackling department. I've never seen someone wrap-up less. He made Laron look like the most disciplined tackler of all-time.

If he can learn to take better angles and wrap-up he can have a solid NFL career. He's not a first rounder, however, IMO.

The big knock on reid by scouts has been he doesn't turn his hips very fluidly in coverage and that's a big deal in the NFL. Great run support guy but sometimes takes bad angles and waits too late to turn his hips and run with receivers. I think he would benefit by coming back for his senior year to work on these things and raise his stock.

I believe he is a 1st rounder. I guess we will find out. I believe he is a better player than he showed this year. Reid is super smart and will pick up any NFL scheme thrown at him. I think Reid will be a better pro than a college player because of how smart he is. It will be interesting to see.

I think he needs to drop the weight he added this year if he wants to stay at Free. He bulked up too much and you could see the difference in pursuit angles, ground covered when playing over the top, etc.

He's a poor man's Laron Landry with better ball skills.

As everyone has said, his measurables alone are draft worthy, but I saw the same guy this season that I saw as a freshman.

He's going to need the right system to utilize his skills, and I'm not sure it exists. Watching average receivers and lesser QB's take advantage of him makes me wonder if his lack of instincts can be compensated.

If anyone cared to actually tally the times he's been caught out of position, or missed tackles without using his arms, this board would be shocked. There were several occasions this season that he got burned deep, and the opposing QB threw Mettenbergers.

I can't imagine. He's graduated, and he can't fall any farther than early 3rd.

Martin and Thompson might make him wish he had. And I know this sounds like I'm breaking his balls, but I'm really just trying to analyze his situation.

He is 2nd team All American and All SEC. I have not seen a board where he isn't ranked the number 1 safety coming out and this is before the combine. He will destroy the combine, he will be the first safety taken period.

Is he the Trev Faulk of safeties???? will get drafted, but will he be a highly regarded college player that slips in the draft.... maybe based on what some of you said about his hips..

and Curtis Taylor wasn't bad by the way... spent three or so seasons in the NFL as a back-up with the Niners

I know Kiper has Matt Elam out of Florida as the best JR... and I just happened to come acorss that info, I haven't even looked into it further... and I suspect he is not the only one that has Elam there... at all!

Yes, I've heard the same, too.

But, didn't really give it much credence.

I don't have film access to all of his play this year, but just what I have would give concern to some that are specifically looking at him, such as those in a position to spend millions on him.

I can't imagine from a football standpoint that anyone associated with LSU could tell him he's football ready for the NFL.

Now, from a financial standpoint, that's a whole 'nother issue.

I know he's aware of his mistakes this season, and I know he's the kind of guy to give it everything he's got, but I'm not sure how much of that can be improved.

Much like Minter, his time is now, IMO.
