Apparently RB has character,a great attribute for a true leader. LSU is fortunate to get this young man.

I know it's early, his initials are RS. I agree that LSU is fortunate to have him representing our team, both on and off the field. Must be good karma for Les to have taken the steps that were necessary when a former great QB did not have the proper perspective on life. It took it's toll last year, but better days are here again. I'm proud to have him as an LSU TIGER.

If you are a gay kid, maybe you'll out grow it.

Wow. Sounds like a great kid. I would pull for him even if he wasn't a Tiger...but I'm glad that he is.

Tom Luginbill, national director of recruiting for ESPN's Scouts Inc., is a former college quarterback with a background in evaluating professional football talent. He said Shepard has a better burst than Pryor, better accuracy and better throwing mechanics, though Pryor has a stronger arm. But Thiebaud said Shepard, now 6 feet 2 and 195 pounds, could grow to 6-4, based on his large hands and size 16 shoe, and add about 15 pounds

Wow, that's an incredible story.
It's rare that you see kids with that kind of maturity and leadership capabilities at such a young age. I think LSU will be in good hands for the next three years (I don't think we'll have him for four).

I have a natural resistance to anything (or anyone) who becomes over-hyped. But with regard to Shepard, every time I start feeling that way, I read something like this, and he wins me over again. I am so happy that LSU is recruiting these kinds of kids.

Not to take anything away from this article, because it was an excellent article, or anything away from Shepard himself, but does anyone think a guy like Chris Garrett will end up transferring? Hard to predict the future, but if they are comparing Shepard to VY, and JJ, JL, and AH already on the roster at QB, where does that leave Garret?

This Shepard quote was in the Times Pic today also, "I want to learn what they have done to be successful. I haven't done anything in college yet. I'm a team player. I'll hold for field goals, I'll take the trash out, I'll do everything to build their trust in me and become the player to, hopefully, help win titles."

Contrast that to Ryan "I'll win four Heismans" Perilloux.

Is it possible for him to end up being 6'4", 210? I'd think it would be unlikely, but thats a big shoe size, lol!

If we can do with him what Florida did with Percy Harvin and bulk him up without sacrificing speed, he will be scary good. Harvin went from a scrawny speedster to a 400+ lb bencher.
