Seems like a few are sort of missing the point here. Caught up in Latz "transferring" to another school.

It was pointed out a week or two ago that Latz's arm was fine but he had another health issue, which PM could not discuss. Now talk of a blood disorder (which Latz does not walk to talk about, Ryan Theriot texted him on radio yesterday). Has anyone thought that maybe this disorder had something to do with the lack of arm healing, could be major (i.e. leukemia), and at the very least, he will have to sit out next season? So why not move closer to family during treatment?

Yes Byrd is at Clemson. He didn't like PM's hard arse school of coaching.

Isn't Pap his boy? Maybe paps will join him and we can have the RBI and homerun leader, with half the at bats, be our catcher next year.

If your speaking of Romero, he is not nearly as good defensively as Papierski. Also you must not have been watching much because Pap was one of our hottest hitters at the end of the season.

You must have started watching at the end of the season, let me guess you started watching for the SEC tournament.

And this statement has become a stale troll, I watched every game and I haven't seen the evidence that Pap is a much better defensive catcher.

Still no one has replied to whether Pap will go with Latz. Is it true that they want to play college baseball together? Did Pap only come to LSU to catch for Latz?

I agree with you. Yes, Romero had an absolutely horrible game behind the plate in the SEC tourney, but people forget or don't acknowledge that Pap was yanked from the first game at Auburn because he whiffed on a few pitches. Pap fails to block pitches too. Every catcher does. Like I said, perceptions die hard.

I thought Leukemia at first, too, but then considering he was pitching just a couple of weeks ago and Mainieri seemingly knew of his issue then, it seems unlikely that it is that serious.

@KendallRogersD1: TRANSFER NEWS: Though #LSU could not confirm, I’m told that LHP Jake Latz is leaving the program. 90-93 lefty w/ potential when healthy.

If LSU could not confirm, then why report it? Jesus man, are they so hard up for news that they make up sources until LSU is forced to confirm or deny rumors?

Has anyone ever heard of APR? Do you know what that means? It is a scale, set up by the NCAA, to make sure that Coaches do not simply get rid of players and have tryouts with no penalty or scholarship assessment against them. If a player leaves for medical reasons or just wants to quit, it does not count against the university. However, if a coach gets rid of a player, he loses points. So, how a player leaves, actually determines how many scholarships that athletic program is allowed to use. So, there is a big difference in "cutting" a player, and him leaving on his own. So, how many players in the last decade have left on their own?

Yes. We seemed to call more balls in the dirt this year too or at least they ended up there.

We are going to be stacked next year!

Is there a possibility the issue is painkiller abuse? Guy has surgery certainly got prescribed Oxycodone of some form. Lots of people get hooked this way. He may just need to get away from here and "blood disorder" has been misconstrued. Just a thought.
