During LSU’s TAF Tiger Tour, Coach Orgeron spoke about Canada’s new offense and how he ran a play that had one of LSU’s offensive lineman score a touchdown in a scrimmage. Orgeron joked with Canada, complimenting him on the creativity but suggesting he better give Guice the football or they’re both out of a job.

quote:

At Pittsburgh last season, Canada gave ultra talented running back James Connor 216 carries to go along with his 21 receptions. With a back as fast, elusive and durable as Guice, you’d better believe he will have similar numbers in 2017. On an offense that will have new faces on the offensive line and at wide receiver, Guice is one of the few proven commodities on the unit. Last season, he led the SEC in rushing with 1,387 rushing yards.

We might not have any depth at offensive line, but at least they can score on their own.

It's crazy to see that gif and realize if Guice would have went the right way (left) he would have easily scored. Foster blocked his man and there was only one guy left and no way he tackles Guice.

Such a catastrophic loss and blow to our ego against the FL frickheads.

O should not be confirming stuff like that. Teams will probably assume Canada will have those plays in the playbook, but no way should O be out their confirming it.

If Etling and guice are in the same page on this play he walks in on the left side to win the game.

Did you miss the two guys standing by the goal line?

He still probably scores, my money's still on guice, but he's not going to just walk in

If by reading it pretty well, you mean that they took advantage of the fact that we gave up an easy touchdown due to a major mistake in execution, then I guess yeah.

As long as LSU scores more than their opponent they can let every o-lineman get one for all I care.

Pitt did have some good o-line play last year with Canada's offense.

This. It would have been Guice one-on-one against a smaller man.

Also, it's a wonder that Etling was even able to get Guice the ball when he turned around and he was on the wrong side. Could have easily resulted in a pitch to no one (but in the right spot).

I never noticed it until now, but if Moore would've sealed that block, Guice scores.

The guy Moore blocked would not have been a factor at all if Guice had run the correct play.

For anyone confused, look a Moreau. He gets to the end's outside shoulder and blocks him perfectly. He probably would have been able to block that defensive back as well for an easy walk in. But even if he hadn't touched that db, I still like Guice's chances to either outrun him to the pylon, juke him, or plow over him to score.
