Dellenger is a good beat writer but a bad interview from the two I've heard with Finebaum in the past week.
I thought it was a really good interview...The SEC commissioner screwed up.

I just call Alleva office and told them I support the AD. Whatever he did I was behind him but that I did now want to lose the home game on the 19th.

I know it doesn't matter what I say.

And I know he was dodging telling the truth about the vibe in Baton Rouge. I don't know why he was, but it's pretty much universal in LSU parts that the feeling is Florida didn't want to play the game due to extreme fear of losing. Not playing means a likely edge for UF over Tennessee in the East unless league rules are amended for special circumstances.

This situation would be different if there was no precedent; however, the 2005 game against Tennessee that LSU moved to Monday was the perfect example. The game could have easily been tentatively scheduled for Sunday or Monday. If the conditions were too bad to play at that point, the game could have been cancelled. The commissioner should have taken charge and made the decision on Wednesday.

Dellenger on LSU and Underhill on the Saints have done a fine job as beat writers for The Advocate.

Meant to upvote. Anyone associated with LSU will tell you that they offered to play the game on Saturday Sunday or Monday and in essentially any location. Foley was adamant that the game would only be played in Gainesville on Saturday.

Finebaum's crack about J.A. spitting in the face of the commish was pure Finebaum stirring up shite. He's been back & forth with this issue, taking turns with one side over the other. He's changed his position every day since this broke last wk. But RD was pretty adamant, or as strong as he could be, that it was his opinion that the game will not be played. He did say several times that he was giving the LSU fans' perspective, too.

Didn't hear the interview, but I've known Ross personally since we were kids, and this sounds right. Pretty smart guy, pretty awkward socially.
