Pap is a liability at the plate! He came up twice with bases loaded and came up with 1 walk

Romero didn't exactly light the world on fire at the plate. Plus, pap is superior on defense which is far more important than hitting as a catcher.

Tenn. exposed Romero badly behind the plate. What we've seen is that he can't throw anyone out and that means any base hit or walk almost automatically turns into a double for the opposing team.

Romero can't hit a breaking ball. Pap has been better at the plate, just not last night, and looked better than Duplantis, actually..everyone needs to step up if wee going to beat Rice, they are feeling it. Need some pitching to show up, too, my god!

And there are tons of people in this thread hammering the OP for saying it. He is severely overrated among fans on this board based on his college production.

At least Pap can almost hit a breaking pitch that isn't hung over the plate. Romero is "game over" when he gets a steady diet of off speed low and away.

Compared to who though?

He's hit better than Romero lately and his defense has been noticeably better than Romero's.

Neither are optimal options, but Pap seems to be the better play lately. I don't think that means he is overrated.

Romero has a really big hitch in his swing that makes his bat speed look atrocious. But when hes hot, he can mash.

Paps is light years ahead of him defensively and decent at the plate. So hes the better replacement.

Romero can dh or ph.

It wont matter. We are gettng it done today, boys.

Hitch In his swing? Did you watch trouble with the curve yesterday or something?

I said last night that Romero is the closest thing I've ever seen to a real life Pedro Serrano. He, literally, can't hit a breaking ball and the opponents have figured this out. I'd bet you can count on both hands the number of fastballs for strikes he's seen in his last 30 ABs.

It doesn't really matter if they are buried or just flipped in for a strike, he doesn't read them well at all.

Its my observation from almost game 1 with him. You dont have to agree. Is this why so many here think you're a tool.

Because I'm asking you to describe this "hitch" or "hole" or whatever it is you're making up?

He is just being a pompous arse as usual. Thought he was going to burst you on "hitch" in a swing...then you said hole, and he posted a cute meme.

We know what you mean. He can't hit a curve. That's the problem
