Serious question - would any hire really make a difference at this point ?

According to this board, no coach in America would want to come to this sinking ship....

Unless Kirby can somehow lock down the state for '17 and '18 (His speciality is MS.), then i don't really care.

At this point I'm only watching to see Blakeney go off in a few games. I can't believe Jones revived and killed the program's morale that quickly

Personally there is zero reason to get excited unless he hired someone who is a good xoxo coach. Talent wasn't the issue for JJ, its everything else. If he couldn't get anything accomplished with the last group, its never going to happen.

Kirby made national news in the months after leaving LSU for Memphis when he donated a kidney to his sister, Virginia Kirk, in a procedure performed at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis.

Wow! High caliber individual, that is.

Kirby is a grand slam of a hire at this point. With how last season just ended im surprised we got someone like kirby willing to come here. Wont surprise me a bit if next year's team makes the ncaa tourny. JJ's coaching style is almost better suited for less talented teams with lower expectations. Watching Simmons become a monster in the nba is going to be rough considering what we did with him on the floor.

Kirby you say? Wow that's crazy. He can teach advanced corporate finance AND coach MBB? What a rockstar!

Yep, I honestly think it's the same issue with Les and Offensive Coordinators. As to the coaching aspect of it....what difference does it make.

At least Les let's his DC do what he wants. CJJ from what I've been told, does not give his assistants much say and input...he's very hands on.

Now Kirby can help in recruiting. Won't help much this year.

Jones had a former NBA coach on his bench. He didn't listen to his input. That tells me all I need to know about jones.
