I listened last night but I can't remember exactly what he said. This needs to be posted, it was golden.

yea,I didn't listen but tried to follow the "in-game thread" here. Lots of guffaws and attaboys for Rich, but little was actually posted about what "Rich" said.

Main quotes I got (slight paraphrasing probably)

"You've taken over a once proud program that was in the national championship picture for last 15 years and turned it into a laughingstock"

"Lot of people didn't think you earned this job after we got rid of Les"

"Do you deserve the opportunity to fix this mess?"

I would like to read it too because evidently it was a "doozy". I'm more intrigued by Smacker taking digs at O on the podcast. I think she definitely has an axe to grind with O and it's not just sour grapes over someone taking over her fathers position. She's old enough to understand that getting replaced in this business is the nature of the beast. It's a matter of how he was replaced is the question.

im listening to the podcast now and she's about to start going off on O

ETA her thoughts:

-She doesnt think its a game that you can bounce back from

-She saw 12 years of fighting tigers never give up like that

-Joe Alleva is probably doing some rethinking and questioning

-Thought it was laughable the contradictions that the head coach was making in the press conference

-Going off on referring to Nick Brosette as "Third string runningback"

This part isn't true. We haven't been to a BCS bowl since the 2011 season.

what she said was perfectly fair and she seemed to be well informed. i didn't think it was sour grapes at all.

During Orgeron's call in show last night some guy named "Rich" evidently unloaded on O.

Les took the high road in all of this and stayed away from commenting on the behind the scenes backstabbing O did to oust him.

The hottest call of the night came from Rich. He’s started by saying that Orgeron has overseen “the fall of a great program” and that we’re now the laughing stock of the nation.
He added, “We as a fanbase, we weren’t happy with the hiring process. We don’t think a coach who failed in his only head coaching job should have been allowed to take over at LSU. How can things be fixed and do you think you’re the coach to fix it?” Orgeron listened patiently to Rich’s long-winded rant and then said, “I earned the job. I was given the interim job and earned it, whether you like it or not.” He went on to say that he believes in his staff and that they are going to build a championship program.

probably not. We will find out Sat (hopefully). If team is flat going into the Swamp after last year, after Troy, and after MSU... CEO is indeed confirmed done. If you can't get up and play your best for this game... done.

Agree, Agree. Same exact thoughts. Not the same situation, but the "overall feeling" I had during MSU game was 2005 vs UT. That "WTF is happening, why is this happening, total frustration" feeling. Followed by anger.

Well, he is. It is a fact. BUT, horrible tone, choice of words (several options as to how to say that), and timing (publicly, at a press conference!). After so many years of Les and his press conferences I question whether we're in shock due to the 180 deg swing, or whether stuff like this is bad in of itself.

This statement is bull shite... I'm not exactly thrilled with Coach O but its delusional to think that Miles had the program in the National Championship picture the last 15 years. His last 5 years were a joke.

She's not entirely wrong...we've at least gone into the Bama game in November with BCS/CFP hopes still alive. Don't think we ever went into the Bama game ranked outside the top 15 under Les.

That's a fricked up question to ask on a coach's show.

I don't support this. We're in a shitty position. Orgeron may very well need to be replaced.

But, as a fan base, we don't have to be classless idiots on the public airwaves. It's embarrassing and it is as damaging to LSU's image as the current product.
