VaTech was like tOSU of today. Always overranked and always underperforms.

Lee didn't get a single snap that night.

yes he did, he completed his only pass. Jordan completed all of his as well (7-7). Mett didn't throw any so he called his own number on the bootleg.

we really did whatever we wanted that night. not only was Ole Miss bad, Nutt was already on his way out and they were pretty much mentally checked out by then. once we got up on em, they really laid down.

Better than that Ole Miss team, sure, but VaTech teams are always overrated. That #9 ranking, or whatever it was, was a tad lofty.

Meh. I respectfully disagree. They were still a top 10 team all year, and I think they won the Orange Bowl that year.

It was absolutely ridiculous.

LSU had 7 different players with rushes of 19yds or longer.
They completed every pass attempt, Shep caught a TD pass.
No turnovers or sacks allowed, punted once entire game.
Defense scored twice, had 4 sacks and 8 tfls.

If it weren't for that crazy 47yd scramble by Brunetti, Ole Miss would have been shutout with less than 150yds total offense.

And of course, Les with the victory formation 1st and goal from the 1, with more than 5 minutes left in the game.

I know Arizona was bad in 2003 but watching that game on TV was one of the more dominating performances by LSU. That game is what kick started that magical run that year.

LSU
Total Plays - Yards: 81-481
Arizona
Total Plays- Yards: 59-182

One more tidbit about the LSU Ole Miss game

Ole Miss worst home loss in history was by 51 points.

Mett scores that TD he kneels on and its the worst home less in Rebel history.

We stayed at the Tupelo Holiday Inn for that game which was the same hotel the Ole Miss team was in.

We watched their walk through in the parking lot out back Saturday morning and it was the most pitiful didn't give a crap thing we'd ever seen.

That team had totally packed it in. The VT win was more impressive because they had everything to play for and it was still the beginning of the season.
