To be the best you gotta beat the best. Wanting Saban to retire would mean we're admitting we can't beat him.
Plus he couldn't become our next coach if he retired....

it's not about wanting to beat the best. i like miles. i don't want him to retire because i like him.
plus, if saban did retire, that would mean more success for lsu, probably.

It will be sad, but like most of the great ones, saban will coach way too long.

"Miles is such a nice guy. I want to keep him. We can't win championships with him unless everyone that's better gets worse though."

Easy... Saban.
If Miles retired today easily more than half the fanbase would be upset or saddened. Now if Saban retired I'd imagine almost the entire LSU fanbase would have a victory cigar and ESPN right now would be declaring LSU as the successors to the SEC crown
