I love Tiger Stadium. The atmosphere is the best in college football. The recent improvements that have been made have made a big difference with the lighting, paint, etc. That being said, I have been to a lot, almost all of the other member SEC teams stadiums and the Replay / Scoreboard in Tiger Stadium is a total embarrassment. For the money our program generates, for a high profile program that consistently finishes in the top 10 almost every year, the fans deserve better.

A few years ago they changed out 1 of the replay/scoreboards for a step up in class, then they covered half of the video space with advertising. WTF? How is it that Arkansas and Mississippi St have incredible, gorgeous replay boards and we have these shabby arse pieces of shite hanging in our stadium?

Those advertising ads helped pay for it, they're called sponsors. Ever wonder why coke is served at the concessions and not Pepsi? Verizon, etc.... There you go.

I hardly would call the jumbotron at the NEZ a shabby arse POS.

Anyway, that's your answer.

Looks like what we have.

Doesn't matter what we as fans were promised. It's about who's going to pay for it.

I like the NEZ screen. I wouldn't like to have some huge monitor up there, like at UT or in Jerry World. It turns into a tv game. You can stay home and do the same thing.

First off, don't talk down to me like I am stupid. I know about advertising shithead. Secondly, I don't want anything close to what Jerry Jones has in his stadium. We don't have to have something obnoxious. I realize that advertising pays for the board. To maximize the screen, they should put the advertising and sponsorship information outside of the actual screen, like most stadiums do.

My question is to have a discussion to find out what people think about our scoreboard in comparison to others they have seen and if they are dissatisfied with what we are getting.

My point is, it could be better, much better. Especially considering our current standing in college football. Why the hell would we as fans settle for anything that is subpar? We deserve better.

At least the super expensive score boards on the east and west sides have scores and stats updated more often this year. Last year they were nothing but monuments to corporate advertising. Someone at LSU must have realized what their true purpose is.

I HATE that we don't use our scoreboard and ribbon boards for actual game information. Here's a pic I snapped of ours and also arky's:

Obviously we do use the middle part for video but that's it. And we NEVER get game stats.

Then you look at Arkansas'. Hey, part if it is video, part has the standard info ( score, down/dist, TOL) then the other side has actual continuous game stats that stay up the whole time.

I know we need ads. But why in the hell would we leave ads up that don't change on the dynamic portion of the video board? Just put some plastic back lit signs the rest of the end zone, I DON'T CARE. But use the dame scoreboard for actual game information.

And don't come at me with "don't you like winning, we need $$$ for the program". I've been to 12/14 campuses in the sec and ONLY LSU is this terrible. That includes recent national champs bama auburn and Florida.

Coon is right, LSU's is a joke. Don't even mention the the tiny South endzone board didn't work not one tie this year.

well, the south endzone boards will look a whole lot like Bama's once the south endzone is complete. for those of you that have not been to BDS there will be one in each corner, instead of one in the middle. if i am not mistaken, the uppers will connect. i know that the suites and stadium clubs will connect. it should look impressive, i would think.

Guaranteed that half of the new screens will be straight ads.

FWIW, I have no problem with advertising, but put the ads around the actual video board, not IN the video board.

Our replay/scoreboard in Tiger Stadium SUCKS. I was at Arkansas game and shocked to see such a nice one. Ole Miss has a nice one too.

That's the actual point that seems to get lost all the time here. I don;t believe anyone has suggested that our scoreboards should be without advertising. But why invest in the large HD screen only to use nearly 40% of it for static ads that could have been presented OUTSIDE of the video screen?

Occasionally, when they DO use the entirety of the video screen to show something, it looks outstanding and we are then reminded of just how much of it we never actually get to use.

fricking UW had a running stats scoreboard going.

I was very disappointed when our new scoreboard debuted with more adds than replay screen.

And you don't have to tell me it's third down and make noise! I'm not fricking stupid!

I agree with you 100%. Its the static ads that stay on the video screen that burn me up. Give us the full video board and put the static ads on the outside of it. We should not settle for a half arse product. Our stadium and atmosphere is 2nd to none and an incredible video board would put us over the top in gameday experience.

What we have now is a joke.

BTW, I'm a white guy for those wondering.
