8th anniversary: LINK. He was a good one, living twice the lifespan that a tiger would in the wild.

with all the petitioning and crap swirling, it might not be the best time to be posting this. just saying. I'm all for having Mike but the title and everything makes it look like our current tiger just died and it's not the best public image at this time.

What's the story on that link? All I saw was one pic and a pop-up Ad.

What is the typical lifespan of a tiger in the wild?

dude got in his ride for all the football games! The next Mike needs to be a cub so that he/she can learn what to do.

Average lifespan of Tiger in the wild is about 8 years. That's my understanding from the head of what was the Indiana Big Cat Rescue where Mike VI came from. Screw Pita. Mike's habitat is the most elaborate Tiger habitat in the United States that houses one Tiger. Plus 24/7 medical care and a diet made specifically for him. Mike will live a lot longer and a lot safer in his Habitat than he ever would in the wild.

But but but but, they are majestic creatures that can and should thrive in the wild were they belong.......

Just to be clear, I think Mike VI has the best job in the fricking world. His company gives him a mansion to live in and only requires him to show up at the office eight days a year...
And he usually calls in sick!

I saw that Mike V lived ~17 or 18 years and that that was about twice a normal lifespan. That kind of surprised me. I just assumed a tiger in the wild might lived 20 or 30 years. (Not that I know jack shite about tigers, obviously.)
