was either not ranked or ranked low barely in the top 25? The stadium was electric and the crowd was into the game and loud whenever a highly ranked team came to town. We all wanted to do our part to WILL the team to victory.

LSU has had a good run with several years of 9+ win seasons and a consistent high ranking. The fans have become complacent and spoiled. The season has become a failure if LSU does not win at least 10 games. Fans leave early irregardless of the score (except Bama).

The game this weekend has the same feel as those days before this great Saban/Miles run. LSU has a low ranking and the #3 team is coming. I have a feeling the crowd will come through this Saturday night and will be loud and proud until the very end.

Do you mean the fans should be complacent if Miles is too? No thank you. I will keep my passion.

rest assured, if the tigers come out with any kind of decent showing, that stadium will be rockin from start to finish on Saturday night...

I remember freezing my arse off at Indy Bowl watching LSU beat Michigan State. Was so happy after that game. We've come a long way since then. Been a great ride, and here's to hoping it continues.

Technically irregardless is now a word due to common usage--that's all it takes friends. Did you know that the word "literally" now also means figuratively, like I literally exploded when I saw his poor grammar.

Anyways, altho irregardless is a word now, it is still considered non-standard, which means you shouldn't use it in a formal setting.

At least that's what it said in the last dictionary I had boughten.

I think you make a good point about fans being spoiled. We don't take winning by 14+ seriously or many quit on the team when they're down 17 in the 3rd.

Is boughten now a word as well... it should be regardless none the less...Is this a formal setting?... so many questions. Yes, I remember many years when any bowl game was an achievement.

For the people fortunate enough to attend, please support this LSU team. OM has treated this game as their superbowl for many years... please return the favor to those delusional people.

I remember thinking Saban was going to beat us up in that game.

I think a large part of the situation is the proliferation of college football on TV. Every game is televised and fans have become saturated with sports of all kinds. It's not just LSU.
Did you see the Texas A&M game vs. Ole Miss when Kyle Field was emptying out early in the 4th Quarter.

That's just college football in 2014.

Success does funny things to people's expectations, the student body has also basically known lsu to be nothing but dominant in their lives. This has led to a fan base generally uninterested in what is seen to all lucid normal people as a mediocre season.

That being said, energy levels will be up for this game (and assuming we don't get blown out) I imagine people stay the whole time. If we win bama will be a shite show just like in years past, if we lose, will be about as crowded as the Kentucky game.

Lol I was being a little coy with the use of the word boughten. Boughten is very much nonstandard, since it is only recognized regionally around a few southern states, and not accepted at all anywhere else.
