I wanted to fire him after Auburn. I think I was wrong, however if he was still playing welter I would still be calling for his head.

Good post; good point; but can we please stop giving Chavis credit for a quote that's been around 100 years.

If Lester were to leave for Michigan, we could do a lot worse than putting Chavis in the HC job. Let him groom a D-coordinator of his choosing and Coach Cam actually get a chance to run the offense as he sees fit.

Only possible drawback would be recruiting.

Best coach we have, makes adjustments during the season regarding the personal we have.

But Miles started welter.

Chavis doesnt want to be HC, he would have been by now. Cam does run the offense. In fact all season we saw cams offense, last night was more what we saw with JJ and crowton.

That's on les Miles

And so was it chavis or Miles to start beckwith? Miles is going to tell the DC and LB coach who to start? It seems to me the more likely scenario was that Miles said wtf, put in beckwith or get the frick out.

It's just silly that fans think Miles started welter, but then has nothing to do with the defense and without chavis he wouldnt have a job, then some how Chavis is going to override Miles and start Beckwith.

Makes no sense what so ever. If Miles started welter, then you have to give Miles credit for the 2011 d. Since he is calling the shots on who to start.

Just asking. What big-time program has offered Chavis their head coaching position and made him turn it down?

didnt get that far, but my statement still holds true. You get it though.

and to the other guy, Chavis has said himself he didnt want o be a HC. Im not going to go back and look over the last 20 years of his career to see what jobs he was offered.

Chavis won't get a head coaching opportunity because he's been vocally against cheating in recruiting. Many boosters, especially those at his alma mater, think that is a must to succeed.
