How is it possible to get 3 down votes with only 6 replies to this point? Who the f•*k are these people? If you don't like this thread or this country and its traditions/observances, gtfo

A lot of people and sorry to the younger generation out there but most forget and think of Memorial Day as just a day off from work and BBQ's and drinking beer. Please don't ever forget the men and women that lost their lives for this country.

Idiots who have no idea what it is to serve and sacrifice for the freedoms we have in the USA.
Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve including several of my family members and friends.
I'm glad everytime a member of the military is recognized at the game.

The irony is that freedom of expression, the right to dissent, is the greatest and most powerful of all rights afforded in the USA. :

God bless the incredible service men and women of the greatest country on the face of this earth, especially those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice. My family thanks you all.

As a younger guy, I too would have likely met a down vote of your op w/anger. Now, as a "middle aged" guy, when I see stuff like that, different emotions are stirred. Initially, I try and write it off to trolling. But when the down votes mount up, I'm lead to believe that we have a country being filled up w/those that eat from the harvest of fields that saw not a single drop of their sweat. While that doesn't bother me all that much - our country is kinda designed to work that way - it would just be nice if those unintended beneficiaries just remained silent, as opposed to taking anonymous cheap shots.

Look, there's certainly nothing wrong w/dissention. Its the literal basis of our county's foundation. I see almost daily examples of that country's government getting it wrong. Let's focus our criticism there though, as opposed to cheapening the sacrifice of the lives lost. Those very lives are what gave all of us - even anonymous down voters - the right to dissent.
