He was not an otherworldly player last year.. I never called him a bust but I don't think he exceeded any expectations last year by any means.

I did early on. Didn't look like a high school track star. Went down with ankle tackles and everything seemed to be slow to develop during his runs. Didn't say he wouldn't pan out, just wasnt impressed initially. And yes, I bashed the Heisman pose against Sam Houston. I hope he has a legit moment in Tuscaloosa to strike it.

There were multiple threads calling him overrated. Hell there was a huge thread saying he would never be better than Jeremy Hill and the majority of posters agreed with that.

No I remember saying stop expecting so much for his first year and let him grow into it.

Why are you so bitter?

Calling him a "bust" and saying he wasn't exceeding expectations (which were way too damn high for a freshman anyway) aren't even close to the same thing.

Can you provide any links to these threads? If not, then how do we know these threads even existed?

Yes I do. Some were saying he goes down too easily and doesn't run hard. Some were claiming Williams was a better running back.

How many?

I don't remember anyone calling him a bust. I remember lots of folks saying he needed time to adjust to the game and expectations were too high from the start.

lot of people were sayin that doing the first half of last season. You can go look it up

Yeah I remember that but by the end of the season he had proved to be the best freshman RB in lsu history and had led the sec in all purpose yards.
What I'm responding to is posters saying he didn't live up to the hype last year when he he most certainly did by the end of the season.

No one did. You're trying to get attention to start a thread.

They were calling him overrated until the Florida game where he made their defense his bitch.

How do Fournette and Jeremy Hill compare?

One example:
quote:

Hill was, still is, and always will be better than Fournette. That doesnt mean that Fournette wont be a great back. It just means that Hill was a once in a generation back.

The problem is the rant is the most reactionary group of fans that think they actually know what they are talking about. Those same posters hating on LF7 are likely now saying "omfg so much better than Bo! GOAT!" They also think they know better than the coaches that spend every day at practice with the players. As a coach you know exactly what your players are capable.

It just shows you that fans are, I am not going to say stupid, but rash/uninformed, and everything on here should be taken with not a grain, but rather a whole shaker of salt.

Lol at people down voting people who say they remember it. And even more so at the one poster who posted proof of it from a thread from last year.

People were ragging on him even after the Wisconsin game.

Admit it. This asinine collection of our fans who congregate on this site are idiots and were quick to brush off the greatest RB this league has ever seen because he had some learning to do early on in his freshmen year. It's a testament to the collective football knowledge of the majority of the posters here.
