I have posted on here since the game, but I have been reading a lot of the negative garbage that has been posted. Some of them are legit concerns, but some of the stuff is just plain stupid. I'm not sure how much football you people watched this weekend, but Ole Miss fans weren't very pleased with the way their team struggled. Ohio State fans I'm sure weren't very happy with their performance either. It's the first game of the year and good teams struggle early. If we go into UGA 4-0 (which we should) and come out with a win then the struggles this past weekend will be meaningless.

Look at it on the bright side...we could be feeling like OU fans right now.

No doubt it could be worse but a lot of fans need to wake up and smell the coffee. If some serious improvement is not made this is still an eight win team at best.

If some serious improvements aren't made, OU, Ole Miss, and Ohio State (and I'm sure I'm missing other highly ranked teams that didn't come out and set the world on first in week 1) will also lose 3-4 games. It was just the first week of the season.

Could care less how other fans are feeling....

I care about our struggles Saturday night, it's a message board.....Why wouldn't we talk about the struggles we had?

I get your point but with the exception of OU none of the mentioned teams play a hard enough schedule to loose 4.

All I'm saying is that it's not time to go in panic/freak out mode. If we blow Vandy out next week then everybody on here that is dogging everything about the players and coaching staff will be singing their praise. It's amazing how quickly peoples attitude changes around here.

+1...and anyone that watched the actual game and not the scoreboard knows how poorly this team played.

There is a difference between talking about the struggles, which were mainly in the first half, and going into a full meltdown over a game that we won pretty easily.

Agreed. If Vandy carves up our defense then you can insert shotgun in mouth and pull trigger.

Which we should do.....In order to blow out Vandy then we will have made a lot of adjustments and did what needed to be done in prep week......That should be praised just like not playing well should be talked about.

Talked about....YES.

Saying that this player and that player is horrible and is no good, and this coach doesn't know what the hell he is doing...DUMB

I think the problem may have been that the bar was set just a bit too high and everyone was a ready to get football underway.

Yes, Washington was 0-12 last year. It's a new year though and I'd be willing to bet a hell of a lot of money that they win a few games this year.

We also had a travel a long ways away and play at a weird time (to our players bodies it was 9:30).

We played on the road in THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON against a team that was hungry for a win. Yes we should have been hungry for a win too, but they had every reason to want it just as bad. When that happens, something has got to give. And the better team ended up winning.

JJ was just making his 3rd start. They probably didn't want to throw a lot at him in the first game and kill his confidence. He did what he was asked and did a good job while doing it. As his confidence builds we will see better and better things from him as the year goes on.
