LSU total meetings

Auburn 57
Tamu 61
Arky 68
Florida 69

I don’t think that youngsters appreciate that tamu is a longtime rival of sorts.

Lots of crossover of alums with south Louisiana and Houston. Oil and gas etc. rumor was billy cannon really wanted to go to TAMU and his son did. John David crow (their best player) was from Louisiana

I really don’t think there’s anyway that we don’t end up with the aggies as one of our permanent opponents.

The important thing is Woodward lobbies to keep OU or Texas off. Just don’t want to be in the big 12 pod.

Yeah you are making my point.

The hatred for tamu flows naturally unlike say a miss state or Arkansas

Understood. Would be nice to win that Houston battle since ties in that state will get stronger with UTx joining. Presence across that border will be important for recruiting.

That said, my ideal would be Florida, Arkansas, and Ole Miss. That and keep the Big 12 fellas together.

Was talking with an A&M alum this week. We both would love to keep the rivalry week game. As much as we talk shite to each other, the two schools are very similar. Military background, Agriculture and Mechanical schools, etc.

Most of my friends that I've gotten close with in Houston are LSU or A&M grads. Better than friends from UT...

As long as we keep Florida I'm fine. Ideally I'd like to keep Auburn or Bama too but I know they're not going to give us either since they have each other and UT/UGA. The least they could do is let us keep Florida if they're going to give us Ole Miss and TAMU

They have Texas. I can’t tell you how much I want Arky again. That was so much fun!

Group 1 : (The cool kid)
Alabama
Auburn
LSU
Florida
Georgia
Texas
Oklahoma
Tennesse

Group 2: (wannabe cool kid)
Ole Miss
Miss State
TAM
Missouri
South Carolina
Kentucky
Vandy
Arkansa

TO make it a fair contest; each team should play 2 teams as their permanent opponent from group 1 & Group 2 .

I have divided the group based on the programs ability to win natty, booster deep pocket , talent etc...

So LSU should ideally play
1. TA&M
2. Florida
3. Auburn
4. Ole Miss

P.S: I am not trying to avoid Alabama as permanent rival because of their recent success; I just think the above 4 form better rivals. And Alabama will not have the success that it had in the last decade once Saban steps down ( ~4-6 years). This group forms a better opponent for LSU.

It also helps in recruiting across the talent rich Florida and Texas state

Also all this is down the drain if Clemson and FSU decides to join SEC next

Decades ago LSU used to open the season vs. Texas A&M in Tiger Stadium for many consecutive years.

Arkansas is boring opponent. Just can’t hold a candle to games against Alabama, Florida and Auburn.
