Regarding fans leaving early. I don't get the "to beat traffic" claim

If all the people that tailgate but do not attend the game leave at kickoff, and half the stadium leaves at halftime. Would traffic at halftime be just as bad as if you stay to the end?

Different people have different reasons. My friend left to get some rest. He has a full-time job, a part-time job, and is working on his house that flooded. I was surprised he even came to the game.

Some say it's cause they don't want to get home so late but they're the same people who complain it's too hot during the day. Give me a night game every time.

LSU needs to stop with the night games. Fans bitch and moan for night games and then party all day, get drunk, and end up barely making halftime. At least if we kicked off at 2:30 most people wouldn't leave so early. It's honestly quite sad how pitiful our fans are.

ETA: I'm sure I'll get downvoted into oblivion for saying that, but our shitty fans don't deserve night games.

Half the stadium doesn't leave, it's just another gross exaggeration by those who love to shite on their own fanbase out of some sense of elitism

He said half the stadium leaves at halftime, not by the end of the game

I was curious how much the flooding impacted attendance. That I can definitely understand.

It takes me longer to walk to my truck past voodoo BBQ than it does to get to i10

A ton left at halftime. I didn't think to pay real close attention to how many were left until just before the fourth when I realized there were only 3 people on our row with us.

Head back to the tailgate, have another bite to eat, have a sip or two of a cool beverage, listen to the post game on the radio, visit with friends and drive home. No problem, no sweat.

I also understand that the streets won't be deserted and allow for that.

I stayed until 0:00, and I had to be at work for 4:30 this morning. There are only so many of my beloved LSU home games a year. I want to soak up every bit of it that I can, good or bad.

You realize LSU doesn't choose the time of most of the games right?

LSU requests a night game kickoff for OOC home games. That wouldn't have mattered this weekend, but it would for other games.

I just think it's funny how fans get pissed if we don't play at night and then leave the game early so they don't get home too late.

Same here. I have it just as easy getting out at end of game.

The bitching about what other grown adults choose to do with their time is the best of all the super fan soap box moments.

If someone wants to go for 1 series and leave how is that any of your fricking business?

I started going to games with my dad and had SE EZ season tix in the early 80s. I can vividly remember parking next to the stadium. Now you have to park in BFE...even with a parking pass sometimes...and the games last forever. Yesterday when LSU played at 6pm, the 2:30 Bama game had 8+ minutes left in the THIRD quarter. That is ridiculous. Add those two reasons on top of a normally boring arse offense and you have your reasons for people leaving early.
