We may need the depth, and baseball doesn't really pick up until after March Madness...

He won't be here next year.

Nope. He only hurts himself by staying. He can't get any better hitting. And he loses any negotiating power he has as a Junior. He won't get some awesome contract, but it will be better than anything he gets offered as a senior even though he'd be drafted higher.

I agree with you about the draft, but in Kramers defense, he got better to the tune of 100 BA points, 16 doubles and 27 RBI in one year. Who's to say he couldn't blossom into an elite hitter with another year?

He'd be taking a huge chance? How much better do you think he could get? He's hitting 0.320 and 0.360 in the SEC alone.

All my points are valid and why Juniors leave so often in baseball. He has bigger hopes beyond LSU. He's shown he can hit for average to go along with his defense. He has nothing else to prove/show to a scout. He was already a preseason top 300 prospect according to D1.

He has a lot more to prove.

Like? He's going to hit better than 0.360 in the SEC next year? Suddenly hit 10 HRs in that 5'10 170lb frame? He's stealing bases. Putting the ball in play. And even hitting extra base hits... he leads the team in doubles by a large margin. Defensively, he's always been above average and he's played a great SS for us. What else? Give me something.

Prove he's an elite defensive SS instead of automatically moving to 2B at the next level.

Nothing he can do to prove that. He's a 2B at the next level no matter what he does.

He can't even play pitch and catch without busting his lip.

If I'm a scout, I need more than one season out of 3 to show he can be consistent and this isn't a fluke year batting.

His mom wants him to graduate. Needs 1 more year at this level to work on his power hitting too
