Interested in what everyone here thinks. Trying to compare this team with teams of the past that had top players.
06 Texas? They had Augustin and Pittmen to pair up with Durant. 4 Seed and lost in the 2nd round.
07 Kansas State? Michael Beasley was a top 10 Recruit in the nation, pairing up with 5* Bill Walker. 11 Seed and lost in the 2nd round.
08 Oklahoma? Sophomore Blake Griffin, paired with 5* PG Willie Warren. #2 Seed and lost in Elite 8.
Eric Gordon's Indiana team and OJ Mayo's USC team also come to mind, although neither were big men like Simmons.

They're one of a kind but I think they're most similar to that 06 UT team

Yep Tex comes to mind . And if we run into a strong front court and don't shoot the 3 well we could make an early exit like they did. This team will live and die by the 3 and fast break points. I like our chances....

2006-2007 UT is a good one.
Maybe some similarities to the Arizona team with Derrick Williams.

Butler 2010
Let's pretend Simmons is our Gordon Hayward. A team with no true legit big. Guard heavy, 8 deep.
surrounded by good shooters: Shelvin Mack, Matt Howard, Veasley, Zach Hahn-----> hopefully Blakeney, Sampson, TQ, Hornsby (and Gray + Patterson)
