How does it work if I'm buying tickets from someone who is receiving their tickets through email?

The tickets come as a pdf attachment. He can just forward you the email and you can print the tickets or you can open the file on your phone and have the barcode scanned at the gate.

I figured that but Is there a way I can get scammed? Maybe the person uses it before I use at the gate to get in the stadium or is there some way to prevent that?

Possible, but you have the person's name on the ticket, you can hunt them down
