His page and geaux.com were the first LSU-related websites I followed when getting my first home PC ~1996. Netscape was my browser. (campus)

Dude gets a lot of nostalgic love around here for some reason, while Hawthorne gets hated on.
Great fan. Beloved for his diehard love for LSU... But the dude just ain't that good at what he does.

Ive been reading his page every single day for the past 11 years. I remember someone telling me about his site and I would tell every fan I knew to check it out.

Sad to hear about Dandy. He's an All-Time Tiger Fan Great. And thats putting it lightly. Even through the worst of LSU's times he finds a way to critique without bashing any LSU team.

There should be a Dandy Don award.......at least on this site. It should be annually given.

I figured something was wrong. You can tell his son had been writing the reports for a while.

I thought the same thing. Scott does a good job with the overview and daily report. His site is more than just that daily report though, it's where are they now, schedules for all the teams, etc. I reference it every once in a while and I do read the daily report every morning. Long live LSU Sports and Dandy Don.

I pray he gets better soon. Great Tiger fan and person. I've been reading his site daily for years.

Get well soon, Dandy!

Prayers sent for him and his family. Proud to say that I am from the same hometown as Dandy Don Long.

The sign coming into town should read Welcome to Winnfield, Louisiana. Home to three governors of Louisiana and Dandy Don Long.

Like many on Tiger Droppings, Dandy Don is the first site I check out every day. Will certainly keep him in my prayers. And Scott is a chip off the old block. Big thumbs up to him for carrying on something that his Dad was so passionate about. Where else can LSU fans around the country get a recap of LSU sports, with a little taste of South Louisiana, over a cup of coffee? Keep up the good work.

His son has pretty much taken over his column for him and has stated several times that his dad is not doing well. And shame on anyone who can't find a good thing to say about someone who so obviously loves LSU. Prays for the Dandy One

Praying for Dandy! And only immature, jealous pricks would make fun of such a great Tiger fan. His site is the first one I go to when I turn on computer each day.
