There has been a lot of news revolving around the LSU football program over the past few months, with the questions of Rashard Robinson's future in Baton Rouge certainly garnering their fair share of attention. The ever-changing landscape for his future evolves once again with Robinson telling NOLA.com that he plans to enroll in classes at LSU in May.

This news differs from the initial reports that Robinson would return to school at LSU in January of 2016, after continuing his academic studies at a community college in Florida. It's not believed that he will be joining the football team for the 2015 season, but having him back on campus would certainly be a positive step as to the eventual return of one of LSU's most promising young defenders.

Robinson is currently living in Pompano Beach, Fla., and sources around the area say that he has remained in good shape and is focused on returning to LSU. If he ever suits up again in the Tigers purple and gold remains to be seen, but it's evident that he hopes that to be the case.

Yeah. That's probably what we should tell him.

Glad the team is preparing for a season without him. If he comes back at a high level, even better. White, Paris, Tolliver, Thomas, and Robinson is kind of pretty good.

Happy to hear that he didn't just say "frick school" all together.

No offense to the guy, but it might be time to just go JUCO for a season in FL and hit the NFL draft.

Would love to have him back, but he'd either have to take a RS this year or play in JUCO? Hands down playing JUCO for a year instead of sitting out is a better choice career wise.

Didn't even notice this. Not sure what he is thinking if the plan isn't to return to the team this season. Go JUCO or get a release to a small school. This would put him out of football until Spring of next year and up against Paris, Tolliver and an incoming Savion Smith for playing time. Not sure if that's just a Miles talk type statement where the focus is solely on school for the time being with them allowing him back on if he handles business during summer school.

Is there anything besides Miles saying "no" that prevents him from rejoining the team this year? Enrollment stipulations?

If Miles gives him an outright release, he could sign anywhere and play this year. Miles has done this before, but can't remember the guys name. Played at Bama the following year if memory serves.

Rashard is doing whatever he can do to get back on the team.. Trust me, he could have played somewheres else this year but didn't.. He didn't want to burn any (more) bridges

So far he's on track and in good graces with the coaches.. It will be interesting to see what happens

Just spitballing without any actual knowledge but from a layman's perspective he could possibly have to make up some ground to be eligible to play in 2016 after missing this spring semester. He could potentially not meet NCAA standards for degree progress. It is a challenge to get back on track but it's not impossible.

Thats a good question but he would have 2 summer sessions to make up ground
