Just watched the game again for 3rd time and when he played he was probably our best D-linemen out there. Very impressive. Gets a noticeabley bigger push than the guys around him and when he can't get to the QB on pass plays he gets his hands up and almost batted down a few passes...

Anyway, that's my dear diary, csb for the day. Hope he gets more PT as I'm sure the staff saw the same thing on film.

ETA: My theory on D-line playingtime is that it's based a lot on conditioning. For example: Gilmore is prob our least impactful player upfront overall but he can exert the most energy on more plays than any DT we have and has great laterall quickness for a guy his size which is what you need for the up-tempo sideline-to-sideline offenses that are being run these days.

He was nightmare for Ole Miss. It seemed like he was blowing up the middle every time he was in there.

Glad to hear this. I've always had trouble picking out individual players on the line when watching games as my eye tends to follow the ball and who actually makes the play. So, I really appreciate posts like this when others notice these things. Thanks.

We've been hearing about Ed Alexander coming on. If Lawrence does as well, we are really well prepared for this stretch run on the DLine.

Now, if Valentine would just get his head on straight.

Lawrence and Alexander are LSU's return to big time D tackles like Dorsey, Brockers, and Logan.

Hopefully we ad Shelvin and Wilson to that mix.

He's an athletic beast. Can't wait to watch him the next 2 years.

Combine those with Lac if he stays and maybe Buggs? Would be nasty.

This kid is gonna be better than Dorsey and Kyle Williams before he is done.

I know a guy that coached him.
As good a guy off field as he is on.

Tall ceiling for this north la baw.

I emphatically second this. I didn't realize Lawrence was in there and it's great to hear that he looks the part. He (and Fulton... and Savion.. and big Ed.. and Davis.. and White.. and Greedy... ) was on my "highly anticipated" list.
