Interior Defensive Lineman 2005-2016:
05: Williams-Wrotten-Dorsey-Favorite
06: Dorsey-Alexander-Favorite-Francois
07: Dorsey-Alexander-Favorite-Francois*/Woods
08: Alexander-francois/favorite-levingston/woods
09: Alexander-woods-levingston/downs/Nevis
10: Nevis-Levingston-downs-brockers-Logan
11: Brockers-Logan-Johnson-downs-ego
12: Logan-Johnson-Downs-Ego-M Johnson/Thomas
13: Johnson-Ego-Q Thomas-Lacoutre-M Johnson
14: Lacoutre-Godchaux-Thomas-Bain/Gilmore/Herron
15: Godchaux-Lacoutre-Herron-Gilmore
16: Godchaux-Lacoutre-Herron-Gilmore-Lawrence

^ Contributors not necessarily exact depth chart

My rankings:
05 11-2
11 13-1
07 12-2
06 11-2
12 10-3
10 11-2
15 10*-3
13 10-3
09 9-4
08 8-5
14 8-5

IMO 16 can be between 3 and 5 on that list. basically being a 2 year older/stronger/experienced version of the 14 line with a couple of additions

What say the rant?

Edit: included records to show how important the interior D line is. It all starts up front

2011 WAY to low

also how are you ranking a 16 team without seeing them play a down?

I didn't rank 16, just said I think they could be between 3-5. Could be better or worse obviously.
I had 11 at #2

-First list is players by year, so you could rank yourself if you wanted to
-Second list is how they rank IMO

I also wanted to show the correlation between the Interior Dline and the success of the season, and see where people could see 16 ending up

Brockers was the most undervalued guy we ever had!

Give me one dlineman off past teams and he's my guy. There were a few flashier ones, but no one showed up every game and punched the oline in the mouth like Mike Brockers!

The 2011 line is the reason that D was so good. They dominated opponents and allowed Mathieu, Ried, Claiborne to be great.

Best DL since '03. Maybe better.

Mingo and Sammy M were good, but what Brockers did for them made them great. Don't ever remember a down where he didn't draw a double team!

2011,

If Alexander and Dorsey don't get hurt, we are undefeated in 2007, so then you could argue it, but they did.

Brockers waa a man amongst boys

Hard to argue against that. If anything 05 and 11 are 1a and 1b. I'll give me reasoning though:

-05 you had upperclassmen Kyle Williams and Claude Wrotten who were both AAs. Third DT was a sophomore Glenn Dorsey. Favorite was in that rotation also

-11 you had brockers and Logan who were also incredible, and freshman Anthony Johnson coming in as third DT. Downs was in that rotation and solid as well.

The starters in both years were elite, but the bench in 05 had an elite player in Dorsey as well. Dorsey (SO) > Johnson (FR) is the reason I gave the nod to 05.
Now the secondary and overall Defense was better in 11 no doubt. Ronnie prude and Jessie Daniels started in that 05 defensive backfield, with guys like Daniel Francis and McCray in slot coverage contributing.

2005 DT's were the best Miles had and I'm including Dorsey in that mix as well. Kyle Williams is the best DL in the history of LSU. Or at least he is the best NFL DL LSU has ever produced
