650 AM - KIKK out of Houston, if it broadcasts that far. Otherwise, you can get 870 WWL or 1130 out of Shreveport when it gets dark (should be after 6:00 p.m.).

Back in the day, I know you could always get wwl's nighttime clear channel out toward Texas.

I'm guessing you're at a deer camp or something, with no internet?

These guys are just giving you the LSU network. It's no ESPN radio, too.

610 AM in Houston has been broadcasting LSU games this season. You should be able to pick it up at night.

That might be preferable to Hawthorne.

Per the LSUSports.net page, 610 and 650 AM are the only two stations in Texas broadcasting LSU games. Should be on 610 as they say 650 only does day games.

The Big 870 should definitely come in after dark.

Why do modern car radios suck at AM?

The old ones pulled in stations 5 states away.

Pay $4.99 to Geaux Zone and listen online.

650 broadcasts the pre game. 610 broadcasts the game itself.

Probably the antennas?

I went backpacking in late September and belatedly decided I wanted to listen to games so I stopped off at Walmart and got a cheap radio. Something light enough to not weigh down my pack. Get all the way up there and get nothing but static on the portable radio. Every once in a while I was able to get a few minutes of either the Wazzu or Oregon State broadcast but it was a lot of work with an analog tuner and headphones for an antenna. Took that radio right back to Walmart the next day on my way home.

I might bring a radio next time but I'll make damn sure to get a digital tuner and hopefully a better antenna.

Hell no to paying $4.99 and I believe OP said he'll be somewhere without Internet access. Deer camp or somewhere else off the grid.

I'd rather pay for satellite radio than $5 just to get Geaux Zone.

I have Sirius in my wife's car but I've never looked into a portable receiver for it. The Sirius phone app is nice but a real pain in the arse to find a college football broadcast on.

At any rate, OP should be able to pick up the game with a decent AM radio.

If you have the tune in radio app on your phone, you will probably have 2-3 options. Just type LSU vs Bama in the search bar.

A lot of schools have their official feeds on TuneIn but I don't think LSU is one of them.

I listen to Oregon State games on TuneIn but they sure as hell aren't going to be able to charge $4.99 for Geaux Zone like access.

Looks like Alabama does make their broadcasts available on TuneIn though:

ESPN radio should have it as well on TuneIn.

I just doubt the home broadcast for LSU will be on TuneIn.
