Our Admin needs to realize that an Athletic Dept is not 'just business.' The "seats have been sold" mentality, i.e., but no one attends, portends a serious problem.

Smoke's last year, the seats were sold. Need I say more.

Kind of like Blackberry saying "We have $3 billion in cash and no debt, we're in great shape".

I guarantee if LSU were to ban tailgating on campus altogether, there would be plenty of places to park for those who actually want to go to the game. And we would find out who the REAL football fans are.

Guess I'm not a real fan. I've had season tickets close to 20 yrs but I'd gladly give them up if LSU banned tailgating.

open up smoking sections

That's not LSU's rule making. It's a city ordinance.

Something's wrong if you can't go a few hours without a smoke.

Furthermore, there are free parking areas if you're willing to walk just a little bit.

There are free parking areas that fill up quickly. When they are full, you are out of luck.

Why DO people need to be on campus if they're not going to the game? Stay the frick at home and stop making it more difficult for those who are going to the game.

I have wondered if the law enforcement entities who plan the traffic flow on game day are that stupid or just don't care.

Yes.

Like it or hate it, it is an issue for smokers (who make up a percentage of fellow LSU fans). Want the [entire] stadium to stay all 4 quarters? Do like other venues and give a wristband for smokers and open up a gate to let them go outside the stadium to smoke in each section.

Keep everybody happy, and they are more likely to stay. That is what this thread is about, right?

If LSU is serious about tackling the crowd issue, it's going to have to get honest with itself. And no alcohol or tobacco are 2 legit issues that keep people leaving early. People with a buzz hate to sober up early and people who are addicted to smoking get irritated once they go a few hours without one.

Or the alternative is to preach to people about how terrible and spoiled they are, and the problem will just stay. LSU's choice.

I'm fine either way.

I don't smoke and I despise cigarette smoke but it seems reasonable to make some sort of provision in TS for smokers.

Same here but it does not bother me if they go smoke under the stands.

As much as people want to blame the fans, that's not the case, it's LSU athletic administration.

As stadiums started going to paid parking the fans started to dwindle around the country. This has been the case at many SEC and ACC schools.

LSU tries to make it as difficult as possible trying to get to the stadium with poor traffic planning.

Poor planning with line management trying to enter the stadium. Searched for alcohol and heaven forbid you bring in an apple or peanut butter crackers.

Once you get into the stadium you show up to concession stand to find out they are sold out of water. Many stadiums have refill stations, why doesn't TS?

Once seated you ponder at a large video replay board and see it covered in 2/3 ads. LSU did go out and get a very nice sound system so that helps.

Need to use the restroom you see broken down urinals and outdated piss troughs. When will LSU do a complete restoration of all the bathrooms?

Game ends, you are happy now time to get in the car and drive home but you are stuck in horrendous traffic thanks to poor planning by LSU.

Various aspects such as these are adding up and fans would rather stay home than attend the game.

LSU doesn't look so good when traveling to other SEC stadiums or other venues.
