As we all know, this LSU team does 2 things very well on offense: run the ball and throw it deep. Ole Miss knew this, but just couldn't do anything about it. This Alabama defense will be tougher to run on.

The way I see it, if you have 7 in the box against us, we will be able to run it on you. If you have 8, it will be more difficult for us to run. However, that also leaves you with only 3 guys in the secondary. What Ole Miss did (and what I would expect to see Alabama do) is play the CBs about 8 yards off the WR to almost assure they will not get beat deep, and they didn't. We have shown no sort of quick passing game at all this year, but I expect the coaches to open that up this game.

By throwing these quick passes (the same ones that Cooper runs all the time), you force the DBs to come up. If they do, then you can beat them deep. The defense could also go into a double high safety look with 7 in the box. Then we will be able to run it.

LSUs offense will have some success tomorrow night... I can't say the same for Blake Simms who will face the toughest crowd of his life and the best secondary he has ever seen.

LSU 24 Bama 10

Have you considered that maybe the coaches don't trust Jennings to throw the screen? They let him throw very few short, quick passes in general. There's probably a good reason for that.

If we would have made a change to the passing game, it would have been against OM. While every game has one or two new wrinkles, we aren't as concerned about breaking tendencies as we are about perfect execution of the plays that we run well.

Im talking about a screen where the WR literally just turns toward the QB at the snap, or bubble routes where there is generally one other WR as a blocker. If they don't trust him to make that throw then he wouldn't have been recruited here, it might be the easiest throw in football.

The problem with that throw is Jennings tends to float his passes. If you remember, Harris threw that a lot against NMSU.

You should know by now that every QB that we recruit isn't a jack of all trades at the college level. You only need to go 3 years back to see that.

I'm pretty sure that the OP is referring to WR screens (when the DB is playing deep) and bubble screens as the new wrinkle for this game. I agree though, we will not break any tendencies and the run game being tendency number one.

This. Jennings doesn't have the arm talent to snap the ball to the WR real fast. He takes to long

I've been saying this for year. We haven't run it since Dwayne bowe left. We used to run it 10 times a game and it worked. We might have done it with early Doucet against bama if I remember correctly.

I don't understand why we don't when we always have elite athletic ability at wr position. Think obj and Landry running it last year. Idk. It's simple pass that was staple of offense at lsu

This is the problem. Jennings doesn't have the arm strength, which means...pick 6
