1. 14 players drafted off GOAT 2019 team

2. 31 total players lost

3. Chase, the #1 WR in CFB opts out

4. Shelvin and Ika opt out

5. Brennan goes down for season...

So we go from the #1 player taken in the draft to 2 freshman...at QB.

6. Lost Aranda...and all linebackers

7. Lost passing Coordinator to NFL gig

8. The head coach is going through a divorce

9. Global pandemic has impacted 7 billion people in some fashion

10. We are way below 85 limit on scholarships

11. Great class is coming in

12. The sun will rise again over the Bayou...

13. O is LSU... everyone should try to be encouraging and hopeful instead of being quick to lash out and express ugly frustration...it is what it is...accept the above...smile...and live your life joyfully.

Some people don’t understand what a rebuilding year is.

We weren't having one of those according to the coach though.

Which ones have no impact on our team?

Quick reminder that other elite programs reload and have had similar tribulations but didn't drop this far. And it isn't just the record. It's the way the team looks. Preventable stuff through smart hiring, recruiting, development, and football IQ (which I lack but know when I see it).

Elite teams generally don't have rebuilding teams, they reload and maybe lose a game, or at worst two, more than they did the previous season.

Programs that aren't actually built well are the ones that need a "rebuilding" year.

Which elite teams are you referring to? In the SEC only Bama has consistently done that. Outside of the SEC, I guess you could say Ohio State and Clemson, but it’s easy to look like you “reloaded” when you play Baskin Robbins every week. Clemson was down after losing Watson but still made the playoffs only to get embarrassed.

Read the OP

Is that a normal offseason for a college football team?

Which elite teams had anything remote to what I listed happen to their program?

Start with QB

Then go with being down 16 scholarship players.

Then remove all linebackers, bring in new DC

Remove best WR in football

Remove 2 best big DL...

Then Remove this years starting QB...

Bama has redshirt Jr starting at QB who played a lot last year

Clemson has #1 rated QB

OSU has returning starter QB...

Who else is worth a damn in the top 5?

Mond? ??

Name 1 team consistently ranked in the top 10 annually that has a rebuilding year like this. Rebuilding years for good teams usually have 3 losses tops......this seems like a dumpster fire. Can you imagine a Bama, Clemson, OSU or even OU having a shite show like this?

“Rebuilding years” for elite programs typically don’t mean “below .500”.

OP is making some good points, but let’s not pretend like everything here is normal and hunky-dory.

Does it excuse getting prison raped by a garbage state team though? How about that Mizzou game? Y'all keep trying to polish this turd though.

There is blame to go around. The young QB’s aren’t ready, but the offensive coaches aren’t doing a good job of putting them into position to be successful.

The defense, while it was nice to see them get stops, did play better, but Mond missed a ton of throws. The defense is very tough to watch, regardless.

Let’s just be frank, this is really hard to watch. It’s bad football. Period.

The defense looked better to me.

Offense going backwards

Max should start the next one ...just to see how he handles it...

Last night he had 3 possessions inside the 5...

14. There will be scholarship limits from OLOL and possibly more.

15. Some staff, maybe O even, won’t be here next summer once the Title IX stuff is finalized. It’ll be LSUs perfect opportunity to get from under this staff without paying for it.
