The past few 2 times we have been, airfare prices went up as the start of the series approached

Was it an outrageous price?

In 09 bought tickets after te first weekend of the CWS to fly up for the ship series. Flew to KC for like $250-$300.

Fwiw, New Orleans to Omaha the Thursday before the CWS then returning the Thursday after the final series is over $500 on southwest. Change it to KC and it's $270 round trip.

Kayak.com has the Omaha trip with these dates for $404 and $240 to KC.

heypaul was telling about that trip last week.

It was a pretty epic trip. Winning it all definitely made the drive home A LOT better. It's a haul, that's for sure.

Funny not, he never once remembered the route to the stadium from the hotel. Everyday we would tell him "dude are you going to get over?"

any input for flying into KC and renting a car, cheaper?

Def. cheaper. The only bitch was I only took a half day off, so I was leaving the Arkansas game right after it was over and then drove to KC. I literally got an hour of sleep before I had to wake up then get gas in my rental car and then go to the airport to head back to Gulfport. I will never do that again.

Frequent flier miles is the way to go......already got my Delta reservations; cost me 3 x 40,000=120,000 miles for me and the little guys. If for some reason I cant make it (god forbid), I can re deposit the miles for a small fee.

Look at all your options: Gulfport, New Orleans and Kansas City, Des Moines, even St Louis (ribs and Cardinals)

How easy is it to just get tickets up there? That's what I plan on doing.
